TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - Get ready to fish for free: the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has announced license-free fishing days for 2019.
A fishing license is usually required for anglers to cast their lines in Florida. But FWC allows fishing without a license on select days throughout the year.
Freshwater fishing without a license will be allowed this year on April 6 and 7, and again on June 8 and 9.
Meanwhile, the license-free saltwater fishing days are June 1 and 2, Sept. 7, and Nov. 30.
"License-free fishing days provide an excellent opportunity for those who don't yet have a fishing license to experience fishing, take youth fishing, or for avid anglers to introduce a friend to fishing without having to purchase a license," FWC says on its website.
