FWC officials investigating death of jet skier

- The body of a missing jet skier was found Monday morning

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials are investigating the death of a Jose Vazquez, 61, after his body was found at approximately 8 a.m. on Monday south of the Courtney Campbell Causeway.

On Sunday at 9 p.m., an empty jet ski was discovered by a tow company. Vazquez was apparently last seen at Whiskey Joe's around 5:30 p.m. that day.

The U.S. Coast Guard and local marine partners were searching near Whiskey Joe’s, off of the Courtney Campbell Causeway, for a missing 61-year-old man.
