TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - This weekend, the NCAA Women’s Final Four championship will be in Tampa.
Tampa hosted the event in 2008 and 2015. While the third championship game in the city begins Friday at Amalie Arena, activities will be happening throughout downtown and along the Riverwalk. All of those activities are free, including a concert at Curtis Hixon Park on Saturday night.
Tourney Town is going to be inside the Tampa Convention Center. It’s a fun and interactive exhibit celebrating women’s college hoops.Fans are also invited to come out to the “Party on the Plaza” starting at 4 p.m. Friday.
The four best teams in women’s college basketball have flocked to Tampa Bay and Amalie Arena is set to host the finalists, starting with Baylor taking on Oregon, followed by UConn and Notre Dame. The Irish knocked UConn out of this stage last year and went on to win a national title, making them familiar foes.
