Hurricane Matthew: Bay Area sandbag locations

Though Hurricane Matthew is primarily expected to be an east coast event, all of Central Florida will feel some effects from the storm.  Many Central Florida communities are making sandbags available to residents.

Self-serve sand bags are available at the Hardee County Road Dept., 207 Hanchey Road in Wauchula from 8am to 5pm.

HIGHLANDS COUNTY

Sebring: George Blvd. just North of DeSoto City Volunteer Fire Station
Avon Park: Intersection of CR 17, E. Old Bombing Range Road and Isabelle Lake Road
Lake Placid: Intersection of CR 619, CR 621 and Highlands Lake Drive
The bags are available in the Avon Park area at the Road and Bridge office on E. Winthrop Street, and in the Lake Placid area at the Road and Bridge office on CR 621.

Sandbags will be available to Tampa residents at three locations starting Wednesday, October 5-until further notice from: 10am- 7pm

MANATEE COUNTY

Manatee County Public Works Department will distribute sandbags Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the following locations:

Buffalo Creek Golf Course: 7550 69th Street East, Palmetto
G.T. Bray: 5502 33rd Avenue Drive West, Bradenton. The location is the parking lot near 51st St W., northwest corner of entrance into Bray from 51st St west.
Lakewood Ranch Ball Park: 5350 Lakewood Ranch Blvd, Bradenton
Stormwater Operations, 5511 39th Street East, Bradenton
Rubonia Community Center: 1309 72nd St E, Palmetto
