Man attacked by his own dog in Port Richey

- Pasco County sheriff's deputies and Pasco County Animal Control say a Port Richey man has life-threatening injuries after being attacked by his own dog.

The call for help came into dispatch around 5 p.m. from a home in the 8600 block of Paxton Dr.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. 

The man was taken to the hospital. The dog is with animal control.

The sheriff's office said detectives were trying to figure out if the man's injuries were solely due to the attack or if he had pre-existing injuries.
