Man dies after fight at St. Pete home

- One man is dead after a physical altercation occurred in St. Petersburg, police said.

Two men, both in their 20s, got into a fight early Thursday morning, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department. They said one of the men died after the other killed him. The fight occurred on the porch of a home at 2864 1st Avenue South.

Police did not say the cause of death, but the victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he passed away. The suspect fled in a vehicle, but crashed a few blocks away from the home in the 2500 block of 2nd Avenue South. Police said he is in custody, but have not released his name.
