Man fatally shot during memorial gathering in Clearwater

- Authorities said a man was fatally shot during a gathering in Clearwater late Saturday night.

The shooting happened when a large crowd was gathered near the intersection of Howard Street and Tioga Avenue shortly before midnight. Police said the group was holding a memorial for someone who was killed in an ATV crash a few years ago.

According to police, 27-year-old Markeen Prim was shot. He was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where he died.

Clearwater police are actively investigating the shooting. No suspect information has been released.
