LAKE PLACID, Fla. (FOX 13) - Highlands County deputies are looking for anyone who has information to come forward after a man was shot and killed at an Easter gathering in Lake Placid Easter Sunday.
Deputies say 20-year-old Markie Kelajawan McCray was shot at the annual Easter gathering in Highway Park.
The event draws people from Highlands County as well as the surrounding counties each year and deputies say they were already working crowd control when they were notified of the shooting around 11:15 p.m.
McCray was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle, then airlifted to Tampa General, deputies say.
He died early Monday.
