Manhunt underway for burglary suspect in Hernando Co.

Deputies are asking residents of a Hernando neighborhood to stay inside and lock their doors as the manhunt for a burglary suspect ensues.

Hernando County deputies say they have set up a tight perimeter in the area of the Pristine Place subdivision near Elgin Boulevard and Barclay Avenue as part of an effort to capture a suspect in a smash-and-grab burglary.

The robbery occurred at Golden Pawn, located at 5224 Mariner Blvd. in Spring Hill.

Three of the four suspects were taken into custody when their vehicle broke down near the Suncoast Parkway and Spring Hill Drive, but authorities are still searching for the fourth. The suspects in custody are all male juveniles, ages 16, 15, and 12.

A “CodeRED” message was sent to area residents alerting them to stay inside with their doors and windows locked.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a white tank top and possibly a hoodie, but there were no other details for the description.

Any residents who see anyone suspicious in their yards or neighborhoods should call 911.
