Man's body found in park; murder investigation underway

- Investigators have made an arrest in the murder of a man whose body was found in a Bay area park overnight.

Clearwater police said the body was discovered in the parking lot of Glen Oaks Park, located in the 1300 block of Court Street.

A passerby spotted the man’s body near the restrooms shortly after midnight and alerted police.

Investigators are now calling the man a victim, saying he died after suffering “upper body trauma.” His identity has not yet been released because they are trying to notify next of kin, but police say he was 48-years-old.

Police arrested Raul Santos Quinones, 22, and charged him with first degree murder.

He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

Both Quinones and the victim were transients, police said.

FOX 13 will continue with updates on this developing story.
