Meeting at Taco Bell leads to stolen wallet, car

A convicted felon arrested while driving under the influence with his wife and kids in a stolen car is facing multiple charges, authorities say.

Florida Highway Patrol arrested 25-year-old Taylor Grant Foster of Largo after a traffic stop on I-4 east in Tampa early Friday. Foster faces numerous charges including  grand theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving under the influence, and no valid driver license.

According to FHP, a patrol trooper spotted the vehicle driving on northbound I-275 after Pinellas Park police issued an alert to local law enforcement agencies. According to a Pinellas Park police, an armed carjacking took place around 1 a.m. inside a Pinellas Park apartment. The suspect took off with the victim's wallet, firearm, keys and car.

When troopers stopped the victims, they located Foster and his family inside. Pinellas Park police tell Fox 13 the two adults and two children were traveling from Florida to Ohio after a recent eviction. The Department of Children and Families assisted Foster's  wife and children, ages 3 and 5, in leaving the scene.

Pinellas Park police said investigators transported the victim to I-4 where he positively identified Foster. According to investigators, the victim met Foster at a Clearwater Taco Bell restaurant earlier that evening and "willingly transported" him back to the Pinellas Park apartment. Once there, police say Foster  "willingly handcuffed" the victim and stole his wallet, firearms, keys and car.

Pinellas Park police and Florida Highway Patrol said Foster's wife is not expected to face any charges. He remains in the Hillsborough County Jail. Detectives are working to secure a warrant for his arrest on charges related to the Pinellas Park armed robbery.
