Memorial held for fallen law enforcement in Manatee Co.

- In Manatee County, a touching ceremony was held to remember the men and women killed in the line of duty.

It was a difficult day for many, including Sheriff Rick Wells. His former training officer at the Florida Highway Patrol, Trooper Jeff Young was shot and killed during a traffic stop in 1987.

"It's still hard. It's very emotional when we talk about Jeff and we think about everything we used to do together. It brings it all back today as we remember and honor him," Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells said.

Trooper Young's family members were at the service. They placed a rose on a wreath in his honor.

Young is one of nine fallen officers remembered during the ceremony.
