EARLIER STORY:

Pasco County deputies are searching for a 12-year-old girl who left her home after being grounded, they say.

Ariella Serrato’s parents reported she ran away around 10 p.m. Thursday from their home on Hillsborough Avenue in Dade City. Investigators say the parents grounded her and believe she left out a window while they were sleeping.

They say she has no history of mental illness, threats of suicide, and no foul play is suspected as of Friday morning.

Ariella has long black hair, brown eyes, is approximately five feet tall and weighs 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue tank top, blue shorts and a black hoodie with “pink” written on it.
