Missing boater's body recovered in Lake Gibson

- A missing boater's body was recovered in Lake Gibson after he was reportedly missing over the weekend, according to officials.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation confirmed on Monday morning the body of Cornelius Wiggins, 32, of Plant City, was found Sunday evening.

The agency responded on Saturday to a report of a male boater who fell overboard. Just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, FWC, along with Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Lakeland Police Department located his body in the lake. The investigation on how he fell out of the boat is ongoing.
