Officials say a Highlands County child, missing since July 7, has now been found.

This morning, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children issued an alert for Destin Morris, a 9-year-old from Sebring.  The Highlands County Sheriff’s Office said they were assisting DCF in the search, believing he was in the custody of his mother, Amy Lynn Morris.

As of 10 a.m., though, the sheriff's office posted an update saying he had been found and was safe. No other details were immediately available.
