A wounded Marine got a wedding fit for a hero.  On Sunday, Timothy Read and his fiancée, Anh Du, were married at Old McMicky’s Farm in Odessa.

The farm awarded the couple with a free wedding. They were the runner up for the farm’s “Mission I Do” contest.

Read served two tours with the Marines in Afghanistan. During his second tour in 2010, he was shot in the leg, but did not leave. Later that year, he stepped on an IED and lost that same leg. From the explosion, Read also severely damaged his other leg and suffered a traumatic brain injury.

During their exchange of vows, there were some tears and laughter.

“Your mother gave birth to you, and your father held you, now it’s my job to hold you,” said Read.

All of Tim’s groomsmen were also wounded in combat.
