Mr. Moosey protects police across the country during 'world tour'

- Mr. Moosey has been protecting police across the country for more than a year, including officers with the Pinellas Park Police Department.

In December 2016, Officer Gibbas with the Towamencin Township in Pennsylvania was on a traffic stop. At this time, a 5-year-old girl inside the car offered her moose toy to him.

At first, the officer politely refused, according to Pinellas Park police, but the little girl insisted, saying it would “keep you safe.” The officer responded with, “how could you say ‘no’ after hearing those words?”

He didn’t keep the moose for himself though. After naming it “Mr. Moosey,” he decided to share him with his fellow officers. Eventually, the stuffed toy’s role expanded, and Mr. Moosey went on a tour with other police agencies.

Since then, he has protected and traveled overseas and across the country. Pinellas Park police was recently chosen from a list of interested agencies to participate in the tour.

Police say during Mr. Moosey’s stay, he visited all parts of the department and rode around in different police vehicles. It was his last stop among all Florida agencies.

You can following his tour by heading to over to his Facebook page, Mr. Moosey’s World Tour.
