New 'epic drop slide' heads to Adventure Island

- A new "epic drop slide" is on its way to Adventure Island in Tampa.

Riders step into one of two skyboxes of the "Vanish Point" water slide and in one, the slide drops riders 70 feet after the floor disappears beneath them. In the other, riders can slide 455 feet horizontally, with a high-speed finale.

"Whether you choose to have the floor drop from beneath your feet, or race to the bottom on a looped slide, the only way down once you get to the top is a wild ride that gets your heart pumping,” said Stewart Clark, president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island.

Vanish Point opens up in March of 2018.
