One dead in Sarasota shooting

- One person is dead following a shooting in Sarasota on Sunday.

Sarasota police say a blue 4-door car pulled up at 22nd Street and North Lemon Avenue. They say a pedestrian walked up to the car and there was some sort of exchange.

Police said the pedestrian revealed a gun, and shot the driver. The said the driver went to Manatee Memorial Hospital and was transferred to Blake Memorial Hospital, and passed away.

Police have not released the identity of the victim. No other information was provided, including whether they had a suspect identified.
