One fatality in school bus vs. motorcycle crash

- One person is dead following a crash involving a motorcycle and a school bus crash Thursday morning.

Lakeland police say it happened at Lime Street and Sykes Boulevard before 8 a.m. They apparently tried to pull the motorcyclist over for speeding, but the driver kept going.

Our FOX 13 photojournalist at the scene said the motorcycle ended up pulling in front of the school bus, which had a green light.

No children were on board the bus when it happened.

The intersection was closed as investigators and medical personnel responded to the scene. Local commuters were encouraged to use Florida Avenue as an alternate.
