One pedestrian dead following U.S. 19 crash

One of two adult pedestrians were killed after being hit by a car early Monday morning.

Around 3:52 a.m., the driver of a 2016 Honda Civic was heading northbound on U.S. 19 approaching Alderman Road, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The vehicle collided with the two pedestrians who were crossing against the pedestrian walk signal. The driver, Scott Grab, 47, remained on scene. An 18-year-old male was pronounced dead on the scene, and a female adult was transported to Bayonet Point Hospital.

The northbound lanes of U.S. 19 were shut down until 7:10 a.m.

FHP has not released the identification of the victims.
