TPD: Incident at Curtis Hixon Park was not a shooting

- Tampa police said what was initially reported as a shooting near Curtis Hixon Park, was actually just a person with a head injury.

TPD said in a news release Friday evening that a shooting had occurred and that one person had a non life-threatening head injury. Police later clarified that there was no shooting, but one person did have a head injury. 

TPD said, "There was a lot of confusion at the onset of this investigation and it was not reported correctly." 

Officers were still on scene investigating the incident.
