One person injured in Winter Haven shooting

- Winter Haven detectives are investigating an overnight shooting.

Police say the victim got into an altercation during a block party in the 1000 block of 6th Street NE early Sunday morning.

As the victim was leaving in a car, shots were fired by an unknown suspect in the crowd.

The victim was driven to the Winter Haven Hospital Emergency Room.  Police say the patient was transferred to Tampa hospital in serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not yet released the victim’s identity.

Anyone who has information regarding the shooting is asked to call Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a CASH reward of up to $3,000.
