One year later, Inverness grandmother's disappearance remains a mystery

Carol McHugh has been missing for almost one year, and Citrus County detectives hope to receive more tips that could explain her disappearance.

On June 8, 2017, the 72-year-old woman was last seen during her afternoon walk in her neighborhood on East Regency Row in the Seven Lakes development in Inverness. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office conducted a five-day search that spanned 23 square miles. Other Florida agencies and volunteers from across the country helped with the search in woods, swamps and rough terrain surround her home.

McHugh is described as 5’1, weighs 133 pounds and suffers from memory issues.
