Pasco County preparing for Tropical Depression 9

Officials in Pasco County are preparing for rain from Tropical Depression 9. Emergency managers are watching the radar closely.

The storm could impact Pasco County Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Some of their biggest concerns include heavy rain and high winds.

Officials have alerted people in low-lying areas to be prepared for possible evacuations.

Tuesday, dozens of cars lined up outside the government center to get sandbags to protect their property. There are at least six different sandbag locations across the county.

Emergency managers are urging people to prepare a head of time, releasing these tips:

Have a plan in place for yourself, your family and pets.

Secure loose items around your home and yard.

Stockpile disaster supplies like food, water, medicine, and batteries.
