Deputies identify body found 3 miles offshore

- Pasco County deputies have identified a body found floating in the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday afternoon.

A boater discovered the body around 2 p.m. roughly three miles offshore, deputies said. The boater had called the Coast Guard, which then contacted the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the body is that of 64-year-old John Curtis Sr. He left the Hudson Marina to go fishing around 10 a.m. The boat he was using was found in the Gulf.

Deputies said no foul play is suspected.
