Pasco Co. deputies investigate abduction attempt

- The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is warning parents in the Holiday area to watch for a suspect who tried to lure a girl into his van.

Deputies say that a teen girl walking on Bartlett Road in Holiday was approached by a white male driving an older model blue van. A neighbor provided the surveillance images above.

The man engaged the girl in conversation and asked her if she wanted to get into the van with him. The girl refused and was able to get home safely.

She reported the exchange to an adult who contacted the Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the older model blue van was described as a bald, white male, approximately 30-50 years old.  
Detectives are currently working this investigation.
 
"You know we talk to our kids about being polite but when in comes to a stranger, if you're approached by somebody as a child and you feel uncomfortable you don't have to be polite. You have every right to tell that person to stop talking to you and run away and get help if you feel the need to," said Pasco Sheriff's spokesperson Amy Marinec.
