NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (FOX 13) - A Pasco County man was arrested for sexually battering a child and then attempting to flee from the scene, officials said.
A family member walked in on 25-year-old Terrelle Cole Jr. as he was sexually battering the six-year-old victim, said New Port Richey detectives, and then he left.
A statewide alert was issued for his arrest, including information on the type of vehicle he was driving. Officials said they believed Cole was attempting to leave Florida. Shortly after the alert was issued, Pasco County deputies noticed Cole driving near the Suncoast Parkway and State Road 52.
On Sunday, Cole was arrested on a sexual battery charge. Detectives did not specify how Cole knew the victim.
