Pedestrian fatally hit by SUV in St. Petersburg

- Police in St. Petersburg said a 64-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by an SUV Tuesday night.

The crash happened around 9:35 p.m. on 34th Street North approaching 33rd Avenue North.

According to police, the pedestrian was trying to cross the road when he was hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 31-year-old Kendra Thompson. 

The pedestrian, who hasn't been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thompson was interviewed by police officers. The crash remains under investigation.
