Pedestrian fatally struck by car in Tampa

- A 49-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in Tampa Saturday evening.

The pedestrian, James Hatcher, was trying to cross Fowler Avenue near Williams Road when he was hit, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Hatcher did not yield to the right-of-way of the driver, 22-year-old Jordan Bean.

Bean was not injured in the crash. Hatcher was pronounced deceased at the scene.
