Pedestrian hit and killed in crash on U.S. Hwy. 19

- The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Pasco County Friday evening.

Troopers say around 6:30 p.m., 52-year-old James Caruso of Palm Harbor crossed U.S. Hwy. 19 near Embassy Boulevard.  The driver of a 2010 Cadillac hit and killed Caruso as he stepped into the road.

Officials say Caruso was not in a crosswalk at the time.  No one else was hurt in the crash.

Alcohol was not a factor in this crash.  No charges have been filed.
