Pedestrian hit by train in Lakeland

- A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a train in downtown Lakeland today, fire officials say.

The man was hit by the train not far from Munn Park early this afternoon.  No other details were immediately available.

Lakeland police are on scene investigating the crash.  Tennessee Avenue was closed, but as since reopened.
