Photos: Tropical Storm Colin washes 'mermaid' into St. Pete

- Public health officials urge people to stay out of floodwaters when tropical storms move through, but what about mermaids?

At least one local 'mermaid' decided to have some fun after Tropical Storm Colin left some minor flooding behind in St. Pete.  Video and photos shared by MerNation, a mermaid tail manufacturer, showed the surreal scene as Mermaid Erin posed in Shore Acres.

The footage showed a St. Pete Public Works truck driving by, appearing to slow down momentarily as Erin waved.

There's no word about what the driver may have been thinking after coming across the unusual sight.
