Some of the spookiest music is best played on an organ and one of the best organs in the U.S. is in St. Pete.

FOX 13's Chip Brewster visited Christ United Methodist Church as organists and organizers prepared for a night of spooky music and family-friendly Halloween fun.

The program is called Pipe Screams. The church’s organists say they rarely get to play Halloween-style music, so they jumped at the opportunity.

Organist Dwight Thomas said he was excited to have the full effect of the church’s organ and acoustics behind the songs.

The performances are free Tuesday night 6:30-7:30 p.m.

There will be music and caroling – like at Christmas but themed for Halloween. Costumes are welcome and encouraged. There will be a costume contest and parade.
