Police find teen shot to death in St. Petersburg

Detectives are investigating a deadly drive-by shooting that took place over the weekend. 

St. Pete police say it happened Sunday night outside of Johnny's Food Mart, located in the 1400 block of 16th Street South.

Officers in the area heard gun shots, and say they received a call of about a person who'd been shot not long after.

They arrived to the scene find the teen victim, identified as Jerrod Evans, with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Bayfront Medical Center where he later passed away.

Police have since arrested one of the suspects, 18-year-old Darzaughn Williams, and charged him with accessory to second degree murder. 

They say Williams was behind the wheel of the car that the shots came from. They are now searching for the shooting suspect.
