Police investigate string of gas station robberies


Law enforcement agencies from Manatee and Sarasota counties are investigating armed robberies of 3 separate gas stations that happened within in hours of each other.


The 1st robbery occurred just after 9 p.m. on Saturday evening at a gas station in Manatee county. Police say a man walked into the Circle K at 77 South Tuttle Avenue in Sarasota. He held a clerk at knife point and took an undisclosed amount of money from the register.


Deputies in Manatee county say just hours later 2 other gas stations were robbed within 30 minutes of each other, also at knife point.


The suspect was seen leaving the location in a dark colored sedan driven by another person.
