Police looking for missing elderly man

- UPDATE: Mr. Taitt has been found and he is safe.

Clearwater police are asking for the public's help to find a missing elderly man with dementia.

Authorities say 80-year-old Lawrence Taitt vanished from his home Friday afternoon at 2511 Hickory Court in the Countryside area. He is 80 years old, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing khaki shorts, a red plaid button-up shirt and sandals.

Taitt is believed to be on foot. He left behind his wallet, keys, cash and credit cards. He has no other friends or family in the area and is prone to confusion and disorientation at night.

A Silver Alert has been issued.
