Police: Man robbed McDonald's, fired shot

- Police say they've arrested Willie Watson, the armed robber who held up a McDonald's restaurant in Lake Wales Sunday morning.

It happened at the restaurant on U.S. Highway 27, just north of Chalet Suzanne Road.  Officers say a black man wearing a dark hoodie and a red bandana robbed the restaurant at gunpoint.  He reportedly fired the gun during the robbery, but no one was hurt. Police say Watson was not able to enter the restaurants cash registers and that nothing was taken.

Police say they tracked down the vehicle Watson was traveling in at the time of the robbery and took him into custody.  "Watson is no stranger to the criminal lifestyle and he has a very extensive arrest record," police stated.
