A Pasco County man is accused of using his employer's pick-up truck to steal a trailer filled with tools from a storage facility.

The Pasco Sheriff's Office said 36-year-old William Thompson went to a secured storage facility on Land O' Lakes Boulevard.

Police said Thompson took a white, 2010 Carry On box trailer with Florida tag 407PJ. The trailer was estimated to be worth $5,000 and contained tools valued at $1,400.

Officers found a palm print inside the facility and matched it to Thompson, who they said never stored anything at the enclosed storage lot and did not have permission to be inside the business.

Thompson used his employer's pick-up truck to haul the stolen trailer to Tampa and used it in another trailer theft the same night.

Thompson is accused of committing three burglaries and three grand thefts. Police said he also tried to sell each of the trailers, with their content still inside.

Anyone with information about the thefts of where Thompson is is asked to call 1-800-706-2488 or 727-847-8102.
