Polk deputies search for smash & grab suspects

- Joel Rodriguez wasn't happy about having to board up a broken window at his restaurant, Ovation Bistro, in Davenport.

It came after a pair of young thieves broke in early Friday morning.

"It is just frustrating," Rodriguez said.  "They were here a minute and twenty seconds."

Three miles away the burglars were back at it.  Surveillance video shows them breaking into Taps and Corks.

"It sucks the fact that people can come in and run through stuff and not care about others. It hurts. It hurts," said bartender Alyson Tully.

Taps and Corks was one of three businesses in the same plaza that was burglarized.

Dominoes and Beef O' Brady's were also targeted.

"If we don't stop them you know they'll commit more of them," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

Sheriff Judd, points out an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers could lead to cash for the caller.

"Think about it, call it an early Christmas from Grady Judd, all you have to do is tell us who is in that video we'll solve the 4 burglaries and they'll go to jail," he said.

HEARTLAND CRIME STOPPERS: 1-800-226-TIPS.
