Polk County Fire Rescue crews say a family of four has lost their home to a fire in Eloise.

When first responders arrived just before 9:00 p.m. Saturday, about half of the wood-frame house on 9th Street/Snively was on fire.

Four people lived at the home - a 25-year-old man, a 24-year-old woman, a 5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl.

Thankfully, no one was injured. The Red Cross is helping to provide the family with shelter, clothing and food.

An initial investigation shows the fire started at the back of the house, but the exact cause remains unknown.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating whether the fire was arson or accidental.
