Puppy apparently killed by BB gun shots in Zephyrhills

- A family is heartbroken after their puppy was found shot dead in their backyard.

Gina Moore says her husband found the pit bull pup with a wound on its shoulder.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says it appears as if the puppy had been shot either with a BB gun or a pellet gun.

“It’s not like something teenagers go and steal something or mess with the mailbox it’s a living animal," said Gina Moore.

The family is not just disgusted, but also uneasy.

Moore says she won't let her other dogs or children out in the backyard without supervision.

The Pasco Sheriff's Office has not discovered who did it.
