Brazen red light runner captured on video in Clearwater

- Cameras caught a red light runner in Clearwater and it wasn't even close.

The light was red for quite some time when a green SUV is seen moving from the left lane through the intersection, even around the left turn lanes, to make a left on red.

The Clearwater Police Department posted the video on Facebook with the caption, "In case there is any confusion, red lights are not optional -- not even on rainy days."

The driver appeared to be in a serious hurry to get somewhere, police said, when they ran the light at Belcher Rd. and Gulf-To-Bay. "Not safe for the driver, not safe for the others around as well," police said.
