Residents warned of rising Alafia River waters

- Residents living along the floodplain of the Alafia River were urged to watch rising water levels outside of their homes Tuesday.

The effects of Hurricane Irma's rainfall continue to be felt in the area, even though skies in the area have cleared.

Hillsborough County strongly recommends residents evacuate immediately if they see water is approaching their homes.

Anyone who is unable to evacuate safely on their own should call 911 for help.
