Riverview man charged with stalking, threatening singer

- A Riverview man who was arrested for stalking and attempting to kidnap a famous singer is being held at the Orange County Jail with no bond.

Lana Del Rey, whose real name is Elizabeth Grant, was scheduled to perform at the Amway Center in Orlando on Friday night.

Investigators said prior to the concert, they received credible information about a kidnapping threat by 43-year-old Michael Hunt.

Hunt was subsequently found and taken into custody one block from the concert venue. Police said he had a knife and a ticket to the show with him.

Hunt never came into contact with Grant.

Police were first notified of several social media threats made to Grant between January 29 and February 2. Police say there was a concern for public safety and the safety of Grant due to Hunt's self-destructive tendencies.

Hunt has been charged with aggravated stalking and attempted kidnapping with a weapon. He was booked into the Orange County Jail.
