Road rage incident leaves driver critically injured

- A road rage incident between two drivers left an innocent driver in critical condition on Friday.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on 49th Street in Pinellas Park.

According to police, driver Anthony Powell lost control of his Chevy Silverado when he was cutting off another truck.

Powell's vehicle crossed the median and crashed into a vehicle that was exiting off U.S. 19. The driver of that vehicle, 52-year-old Timothy Ilyes, was critically injured in the crash. He was transported to a local hospital.

Police said charges are pending against Powell. Police have not located the second truck involved in the incident.
