Body of missing kayaker found

- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office says it has found the body of a kayaker.  Deputies said Tommy Trousdale, 66, was last seen around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was believed to have gone kayaking on the Myakka River from the Deer Pairie Creek Preserve in Venice.

His vehicle was located Tuesday night around 5 p.m. at the south entrance of Deer Prairie Creek Preserve, but Trousdale was nowhere to be found. Trousdale's family said he had some health issues and was not answering his cell phone.

Deputies spent the day searching by chopper, boat, and mounted patrol.  His body was found early this afternoon.

There's no sign of foul play, they said.
