SARASOTA, Fla. (FOX 13) - A Sarasota man has been accused of sexually battering a woman after she fell asleep, police said.
Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department responded to the reported sexual battery around 6:20 a.m. on March 9. The victim, according to officials, said she met her friend and 38-year-old Christopher Lind at his apartment. All three went out for the evening, then returned to Lind’s apartment, where the victim fell asleep in a guest bedroom, police said.
Then, she said she woke up to Lind assaulting her, police said. The victim left the apartment, went home, and contacted law enforcement the following morning.
“The Sarasota Police Department takes every instance of sexual violence seriously. Officers encourage anyone to call and report this type of activity without hesitation,” the agency said in a press release.
Lind was arrested on a sexual battery charge, and has since bonded out of jail.
