Police recover body of missing swimmer near Cypress Point Park

- The Tampa Police Department said the body of a missing swimmer was believed to be found Sunday morning.

Officers had been searching for 36-year-old Robert Lucas since Saturday afternoon. Family members said he was swimming in the water at some point before he disappeared.

Tampa police and other agencies spent hours searching for Lucas on Saturday. They resumed the search around 8 a.m. Sunday.

Police said a body believed to be that of Lucas was found about 50 feet from where he was last seen.
