Seminole Heights holds annual pumpkin festival

TAMPA (FOX 13) - People in the Seminole Heights neighborhood in Tampa are holding their annual pumpkin festival Saturday - saying they refuse to let the ongoing search for a local serial killer force them to cancel.

The big neighborhood party features music, games, a pie-eating contest and much more. They have a police presence in the neighborhood, but say the event is otherwise unchanged from previous years.

"It's important for all of us to come together and continue our lives like we would normally continue our lives, having our festival and having our gatherings, and being neighborly and being the strong community that we are," said Brian Frey, President of the Hampton Terrace Community Association.

The Pumpkin Festival runs from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 1224 E. Clifton Street in Seminole Heights.  A portion of proceeds from the event will go to benefit the families of Anthony Naiboa, Benjamin Mitchell and Monica Hoffa.
